Last Thursday I had an Ikebana event at Samurai Collection. It’s really successful.
I love the Collection where I can see samurai helmets and armors. They are all in detailed and beautiful. I imagine who made this, who wore it and the feeling of samurai, There are different types of helmets and armours. Even in Japan we cannot see those valuable art work in one place. Amazing!Admission free ! You can’t see exhibitions even in Japan.
I also appreciate generosity of the ower. They open their beautiful collection open to the public! Admission Free! I was happy to do something as a token of gratitude and appreciation.
Ikebana was born in the 15 century when Japan had been experienced civil unrest.Samurai appreciated the art of flower arranging. Ikebana appreciate and honor the life of plants. Samurai reflect themselves on flowers whose life are not long.
There was an episode that a Samurai arranged wild flowers in his helmet in the battle field. They knew their life is as short as flowers. Ikebana is to appreciate not colorfulness or quantity but life itself.
Ikebana and Samurai have close relation so I was very happy to do Ikebana event in that place. I felt like being a prat of history.
