It’s July 7th, Tanabata; the star festival in Japan

It’s July 7th today and I’d like to celebrate Tanabata in the United States. This is translated into festival but no special food or dancing. This is based on Chinese legend.

Please watch Tanabata story and you will hear the song after 36 seconds. I hope you will like it.

Sendai in Japan have a big Tanabata in August, luner July 7th. We decorate with origami ornaments and write a wish on a color strip. We used to sing Tanabta song and decorate a bamboo. Our wishes in younger days were like, Become taller, be a kind girl, get a  good grade, become a super  hero win a game. So much fun. These days there are special menu and dessert at restaurants and some night events. some women wear Yukata.
