Japanese culture experience; making origami dolls and calligraphy on March 3rd

On March 3rd Japanese culture experience private lesson  was  making origami dolls and calligraphy. Her first time challenging calligraphy with brush and ink.

First we used special paper which we can practice with water. How to hold brush, how to write and basic movements of each strokes. She was really good!  Focusing in very important. Look at Otehon, the model writing carefully and do not rush. Take a breath and one by one stroke.

She wrote her name very well in an hour! Then we celebrated Hinamasuri, Girls’ Day together, making origami hinaningyo. They are emperor and empress.  We talked a lot over making origami. I enjoyed teaching and sharing our perspectives.

Great job Avigail!
Looking forward to next lesson.
