My Indian friend Ranjana opened a door to real India!

I had a really good time with Ranjana yesterday. She is my Indian friend.

I didn’t have any Indian friend when I was in Japan because there were not many Indians in Japan, especially my ares. I went to India in 2008 for the first time. I had wanted to see Mother Teresa but she passed away. That taught me that life is limited. Not only my life but also others’ too. Then I decided I should do what I really wanted to do. I went there and I had seen where Mother Teresa lived and worked. I spend a day at orphanage. It was  a good experience there in Kolkata. However, I didn’t make any friends to talk about Indian culture and real life there.

I really wanted to have an Indian friend since then. Finally I made good friends with Ranjana and Amurita. They are very talented,  highly educated and very kind. They are the guide for me to understand India deeper.
Even we can search on line and see the video but there are seen from someone’s view and the message carried by the article and the video are not always true.

I am learning about India from Indian friends. The country where Buddha was born, they have the concept of Zero,Colony of Great Britain, Taj Mahal, Gandhi, Non Violence, which  sent an elephant called Indira to Japanese children after World War 2. A country of curry and Yoga. They had one of the oldest civilization near the Indus wit much longer history.

The images of negative image are more shown than rich culture and we tend to have stereo type India in our mind.

India I see through from my friends seems to be more real and authentic and friendly. I learn a lot through experience. Experience is the best teacher. It’s more interesting.

Ranjana often taught me wisdom of India and I love that. We are different but we share more in common as human.
