Dallas Akimatsuri Fall Festival 2018

This was my 2nd time to have a booth for Akimatsuri which means a fall festival.  6 years ago it;s my first Akimatsuri in Dallas 2018 where I saw many Japanese gathering at one place! Now more and more Japanese company came to Dallas! My dream was to have my booth and wanted them to experience authentic Japanese culture. Past 6 years it was always so hot and we called it Natsumatsuri;summer festival! it’s rainy and cloudy and windy this year.

My dream came true! However, I still need more to let as many people know what they could see and do.  Needed more bright color and big sign board to show what they could enjoy at my booth. I have many to improve next year. The most interesting and enjoyable parts were to work with volunteers who were high school students and see Ikebana many people arranged.

And I provided flower experience. To use real Kenzan was more interesting than just arrange one flower and one greenery.I I enjoyed people’s smile and beautiful Ikebana !

I mysefl made Rikka which is the most traditional style braced back to the 15th century. Thanks to my friend’s help, I have plenty of diffrent kinds of branches. It’s another big fun!
