Hachi : a very loyal dog

Do you like a dog or a cat?

People think that a dog is more loyal than a cat. In old Japanese folk tales I have never herad that a can did something good.   There is a bad expression using a cat.

Being loyal is one of traditional virtue in Japan. Samurai has to be loyal.   Ninja must be loyal to his/her master.  An employee is expected to be loyal to a company.  As a loyal dog, we have Hachi. Most of Japanese know about Hachi and there is a statue of Hachi in front of Shibuya station, Tokyo Japan. When you come to Japan, why don’t you come and see him?

Hachi in America This article was written last year. I was so impressed by a dog who visited his master in a hospital. He reminds me of a dog called Hachi. You may know a Hollywood movie of Hachi dog. Of course there was Japanese one.ハチ公物語.

I love this little dog. She is so cute. ANZU My cousin’s dog  Anzu.(apricot)
