Let’s do Ikebana with chrysanthemum in fall!

In fall I want to use chrysanthemums for Ikebana. Chrysanthemums are used for Japanese royal family crest and popular in fall as cherry blossoms for spring. 春は桜 秋は菊 Haru wa Samura, Aki wa Kiku.

I have memories of chrysanthemums that my grandmother took a good care of them and bloomed big flowers on the wires which supported the flower in place. Whenever I see big chrysanthemums, I remember my grandma.

Whenever I see chrysanthemums, remember my grandmother taking good care of chrysanthemum in my yard. Love grandma!

I didn’t understand why she spent so much time to grow and bloom them. She loved to see they grew, expecting beautiful flowers in fall. She just loved giving love and their lives, I think. Chrysanthemums looked good in Japanese yard where there were much greenery and rocks.

Here in Dallas chrysanthemums are different from what I saw, but they have different characteristics and impressions. I enjoyed with American chrysanthemums arranging in Ikebana style.

Here are Ikebana by my students. Enjoy the aroma of fall. In the States, I can enjoy Japanese traditional flower arrangement, Ikebana.
