Meditation on Ikebana

Why don't you get a single flower for you?Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging is a kind of meditation for me so why don’t you try meditation on Ikebana? I call Beautiful Meditation.

Even if I am very busy, I will feel calm once I face to flowers and branches and start Ikebana. First a few minutes it may be hard to focus but soon beautiful and silent lives talk to me. Then I start to observe very carefully and discover their unique beauty.

Hearing the sound of clipping stems. Smelling of scents of leaves and flowers. Touching and placing stems of flowers and twigs. Seeing a creation with plants. All are quiet.

Flower are silently sharing your feeling.Animals approach us and make us happy and healed. Plants themselves don’t approach to us as long as we approach or pay attention to them and give a look. In that sense plants do not seem to be human’s friends like pets but I love their voiceless existence.

Why don’t you try to buy a single stem for you when you need peace or share your feeling?
