How pretty she is! How cool these little Samurais!
Kimono is not usually worn in our daily life but in November you can see little princesses and princes in kimono. November 15th is a day to celebrate healthy growth of children and go to shrine to have Shinto purification ritual. They receive candy called Chtose Ame,(a thousand year candy) a candy shaped long stick. Childeren for three and five year old boy and three and seven year old girl. The usually wear kimono and families take family pictures.
七 Shichi means seven, 五Go means five, 三 San means three, Shichigosan is also a day of Kimono debut! Both boys and girls are so cute in traditional fork dress, kimono. Girls look like Hime, (姫:princess in Japanese. Boys wear also traditional kimono and they look really cool, little Samurai! ShichiGosan is one of the most traditional events still alive among Japanese now. One of the most beautiful day of the year. These days people are busy and go to shrine any day earlier in November.You will see families with little boys and girls in kimono in shrines.
