I tried to find something I had never tried in order that I could find a sense of accomplishment or some improvement in my daily life. Writing an article made me think and sometimes feel relaxed and calm, feeling I am doing okay or going a step forward.

アメリカの大和撫子 Yamato Nadeshiko in the U.S.Its name is Yamato nadeshiko means a Japanese woman. Yamato means Japan. old Japan. Nadeshiko is a name of a flower, in English , pink. The flower is not loud or stunning but a delicate wild flower. An ideal of Japanese women is strong as wild flower, nadeshiko in their mind and graceful in  their manners and behavior, I understand.  Generally we call Japanese girls Yamato nadeshiko when we emphasize Japanese. I named my Japanese blog Japanese (traditional) woman living in the State.

Yamato Damashii is for a man. Damashii is Tamashi, means soul or spirit. strong minded. never complain or give up. These words were used a lot during war time, I know these words because I had been brought up in a old fashioned or traditional family and also some teachers of our generation mentioned when they expected us to work hard, never give up!
