Visit Ishinomaki, Tohoku after 3 years Tsunami hit.頑張ろう石巻 1

I stood same place and thought” Nothing seems to be changed.  Again the height of Tsunami made me realized it had destroyed whole town near the cost. I found a comment of a lady in signature.

Ishinomaki TOHOKU

” I couldn’t come back here since I had left after Tsunami. It took me 3 years to be here.”   The word she used やっと eventually or finally made me imagine her long days of suffer, pain, sense of loss , missing home,  families , freinds neighbours ,memories. Also I felt her  strength to accept her situation and  try to face up and start new step. Three years is very long.On our way to recovery.がんばろう日本!がんばろう石巻!

This is my second short visit to Tohoku after Tsunami hit in March 2011. Last year I stayed only one one day and one night but A taxi driver Mr Chiba showed around Ishinomaki.

がんばろうIshinomaki 2013

The height Tsunami hit Ishinomaki was 7.7m;25.26ft

I stood where cars on the road were attacked. He talked and showed the places.  I had no words to say to see with tears. All I could do was just pray for victims and recovery at my church.   . Though it’s very short visit, it meant a lot. That’s why I wanted to visit Tohoku again.

がんばろう Gan(m)barou is very popular word when we encourage one another. Japanese people like to cheer up ourselves in time of difficulties as well  to strive and get better  together.
