I had a wonderful meetings today in Dallas City Hall.I demonstrated Ikebana. Though my time was not long enough to explain all I wanted to tell, I could share in the joy of Ikebana with Beth. She chose an orange roses and completed our Ikebana.
I Love It!
In the flag room of Dallas City Hall, I made a speech about Ikebana and explained “Why Ikebana is beautiful?” Flowers, including trees, have their limited lives. Their beauty is not eterenal. We, human cnnot live forever. We have liited lives too.
In Ikebana I appreciate ther own beauty and lives and arrange them. That means I share thier limited lives and beauty. In Ikebana an arrnager and flowers are aharinig their moment.
I was in he flag room, sharing time and place with the audience. I had never met them before. They had never met me either. We were sharing time and place them, sharing the beauty and lives of Ikebana. The precious moment of my life. That’s beautiful. This joy is same kind of joy of tea ceremony.Focus on a moment and appreciate it.
Another reason why Ikebana is beautiful because it is a harmony of flowers. They are all unique and they have their own characters and arranged in to new beauty. Each one plays a spacial role for whole arrangement. They have a new beauty by arranged away from their natural settings. Ikeru means to give a new life, and Bana (hana) means flowers.
I had a really great time sharing with the beauty of flowers and the moment. I had a great audience. Beth, Daniel,Nelson
