Wore Hakama for Japanese school graduation

DSCF7063mI am teaching Japanese at Japanese school in Dallas and on March 26 was graduation ceremony. I with two other teachers wore Hakama; originally a formal undivided skirt over Kimono for male. Also Hakama was worn by female students and teachers  from Meiji to early Showa and now it’s trend for college female students for graduation ceremony.

As a teacher we wore Hakama over Kimono  to celebrate and honor students. I was so proud of my students. When we wear Kimono, it’s mainly for a formal occasion. Also I realized that I myself is  a Japanese.

Kimono identifies that I am Japanese. Graduation ceremony reminded me of my love teaching. All the best.
